Elect Jamie Lee

important issues

We need to have far more transparency in our county government.  Most of the discussion and decisions are made in committee meetings and then only voted upon at the bi-monthly board meetings.  There is a lack of open communication about how our taxes are being spent.  This needs to be corrected.

We are over-spending within the Housing Redevelopment Authority(HRA) with a lack of housing  in District 5 specifically and not enough accountability across the board.  We are spending $473,000 annually plus a $1,000,000 slush fund on the HRA.  How much of that are we seeing used in District 5?

Election integrity is of the upmost importance.  We need to be certain we are doing everything in our power to ensure election integrity AND to be transparent about the electronic voting system and how it is used.

In our district we have livestock owners who are suffering from an ever-growing wolf population.  These farmers are also being denied payment for their losses despite a guarantee from the State of Minnesota to be reimbursed.  We need to pressure the state to meet their requirements and to also de-list the wolf.  We are not doing the best we can to assist our residents.

Our senior citizens, disabled residents and Veterans are being priced out of quality of life.  Inflation is at approximately 19 percent.  Pensions and Social Security increases are at or less than 3 percent.  We need to improve on the ways we assist those who are struggling.

There are many more issues facing our district that are not being addressed and need to be.  These issues include mental health, county waste, potential new mining, school district budget shortfalls, public transportation, industry challenges and many more.    District 5 deserves a commissioner who is actively engaged in improving our district and our county.

If given the opportunity to serve as your District 5 Commissioner I will devote my time and energy to improving our district and county to the best of my ability.  My focus is on improving our quality of life, serving ALL residents and being certain our board is making fiscally responsible decisions.  I will be actively engaged in all aspects and responsibilities of the position of commissioner.   I humbly ask for support and your vote in November.  Thank you.
